French opera conductor Paul-Emmanuel Thomas is Music Director of the Classica Italiana Orchestra, Artistic Director the Menton Music Festival, principal guest conductor of the Orchestra Filarmonica del Piemonte and has collaborated with numerous ensembles across Europe, including Leven Philharmonic Orchestra , Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Filarmonica di Parma, Thuringen Philharmonic and Berlin StadtOper Choir, Royal Northen Sinfonia, Kanazawa Orchestra Ensemble, Orchestra della Città di Ferrara, Orchestra Sinfonica di SanRemo, Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, Orchestre des Solistes de Monte Carlo, Orchestra dell Accademia Filarmonica di Saluzzo, Orchestre
Symphonique de Pau, Orchestre symphonique de Cannes, Orchestra Filarmonica Giuseppe Tartini di Roma and Ruse State Opera.
Season highlights for 2022/23 include La bohème (Orchestra Filarmonica del Piemonte), La nonne sanglante (Opera de Saint Étienne) and his debut as musical director of Gattières Opera Festival with Norma. Other collaborations include Tistou les pouces verts by Henri Sauguet, a community opera for Opéra de Rouen; the world premiere of Red Waters by pop singers Keren Ann Zeidel and Barði Jóhannsson; the European premiere of a new soundtrack to the classic Chinese film The Goddess by Zou Ye with Orchestre de chambre Pelléas and Roberto Alagna’s ‘Shakespeare Stars’ tour.
Paul-Emmanuel studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and the Conservatoire Royal de Liège.
