Portuguese soprano Beatriz Volante is a Mimi Opperby Award Holder at the Royal College of Music where she is studying for a Masters of Performance with Sophie Bevan, Ben Johnson and Bryan Evans. Previous roles include Venus Venus and Adonis; Gloria L’augùrio difelicità by Marcos Portugal (CCB, Lisbon); Papagena Die Zauberflöte; first soprano Zápisník zmizelého by Leoš Janáček (Ensemble MPMP, Lisbon); Rowan The Little Sweep; Donna Anna Don Giovanni Tenorio by Giuseppe Gazzaniga and, in scenes, Marie La fille du régiment (Royal College of Music). She has attended masterclasses with Mariella Devia, Sophie Bevan, Edith Wiens, Tobias Truniger, Serena Gamberoni, Amanda Roocroft and Michèle Crider. She was awarded the Cuthbert Smith Prize for second place in the Lies Askonas competition at the RCM.
