Matthias Daehling

Countertenor, Samling Artist Programme: 2025

Matthias Daehling graduated with distinction from the Royal College of Music in 2023, where he studied with Sally Burgess. Recent performances include Monteverdi L’Orfeo (Theater Winterthur with lautten compagney BERLIN) and concerts at Laeiszhalle Hamburg and Palau de la Música Catalana. He participated in the Wigmore Hall French Song Exchange, giving recitals in London and Paris. Matthias has regularly performed with the Monteverdi Choir with Sir John Eliot Gardiner and Balthasar Neumann Choir with Thomas Hengelbrock and appears on several CDs, including a first recording of rediscovered Telemann cantatas. In 2021, he made his debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper in The Nose by Shostakovich. He has studied with Ulla Groenewold in Hamburg since 2016.
