Our Samling Academy Singers bring to life maritime stories of sailors and the lovers they’ve left behind, of fishing communities, of mermaids and myths, and with some traditional seaside fun thrown in! This semi-staged concert of song and poetry includes music by Elgar, Schubert, Schumann, Mendelssohn and Head and traditional seaside ballads. What better way to spend an evening after fish and chips and a walk on the pier.
The concert is directed by Samling Artists Miranda Wright and pianist Jo Ramadan who will also accompany our Academy Singers.
The programme will also be performed on Friday 15 July 2022, 7.30pm at Sage Two, Sage Gateshead (details here)
